Goal!!

Evelyn's soccer team had a make up game tonight in place of practice. They played the team they were to play on Saturday and got rained out. Since the teams practice at the same time the coaches agreed to have a make up game Tuesday.
The girls were running slow the first quarter but then kicked it into gear in the second quarter. We got scored in the 2nd quarter. But came out on fire for the 3rd quarter. And what do you know.... our Evelyn scored a goal!! Her first career goal!! She plays midfield so is pretty much all over the field. She has had some good drives towards the goal, a few shots and several great passes, even some assists on goals. The ball was being kicked around and smack, wow! took a moment to realize it was Evelyn who scored! You should have seen the grin on her face. Like my dad says, like a jack ass with a mouth full of bumble bees. Well, this was a girl who was giving it all and scored her goal. A well deserved goal.
Game was now tied 1 - 1. Lauren scored the next goal for us which gave us the win at 2 - 1.
Go Kryptonite! What a super game. Sure wish Greg and Tom had been at the game to see the goal too. (I had already taken Greg to practice and dashed back for the rest of the game)
We finished up the evening at Greg's practice. After getting home and dinner, kids ready for bed and homework finished and everything else ready for tomorrow and then some, I am beat. Totally exhausted, as were the kids. So, it's off to the land of nodd for me.
