Last week went by like a whirlwind! I was busy getting ready to leave for 2 days to go to my office in Westlake Village for a meeting. And also getting ready for Greg's first communion Saturday.
I headed to WLV Wednesday morning after ordering Greg's cake. Worked there all day and had a great dinner with many co-workers at PF Chang. We work all over CA and other states so it's nice to see everyone a few times a year. Wednesday night my laptop crashed so I was computerless at the hotel. But instead watched a movie and read some magazines I dragged along with me. Thursday I learned my lap top needed a new hard drive so will get the final diagnosis on Monday.
After being on the freeway for 3 hours, 15 minutes I made it to Greg's game. I promised him I would make it to his game and I did! Padres won!!
I took the day off Friday (couldn't work anyways with no computer) and spent the morning cleaning and getting ready for Saturday.
Before noon I headed off to Rubys in Rancho to save a big booth for lunch. Evelyn's class was headed to their overnight on the Pilgrim in Dana Point. Evelyn, Marisa and Jordan (and parents) were getting together for their big lunch before heading to Dana Point. We got to Dana Point around 2 and hung around waiting to board the Pilgrim. Got lots of fun pictures of the kids.
I left Dana Point around 2:45 and headed home to change for Greg's game. Greg had won a raffle and was teacher of the day and had a lunch and movie date with 2 teachers, their aid and 4 kids. I had to be in Foothill Ranch to get Greg and take him to his game. Whew, made it!!!
The game was a great game against the Cardinals. Everyone played their best and we only held the Cardinals to 12 but still lost the game.
Greg got the game ball!! Early on in the game, he slid into 2nd and got a huge rasberry on his knee. Came limping off the field for a bandaid and was right back there playing. Then not long after that Greg raced a runner headed for home and they both slid into home about the same time. Unfortunately not an out and Greg got a huge rasberry on his elbow. This one hurt (saw the tears). So, bandaged up and limping Greg played the rest of the game, refused to sit out, and had some excellent plays at 3rd and at bat. Greg was proud to have earned the game ball.
Friday night I spent putting the final touches on things for Saturday. I fell asleep exhausted!!
Saturday was a wonderful day! Perfect day for a First Communion! Greg was so handsome all dressed up. We had a fun party at our house! When we were mostly picked up, I crawled into bed with Evelyn and fell asleep watching TV. I got up for some dinner and headed right back to bed and fell asleep watching Little Women. Exhausted!!
Evelyn was tired too from her lack of sleep while on the Pilgrim. She had night watch from 10 pm to midnight but said it was hard to sleep. Saturday I looked around for Evelyn, and found her fast asleep in her room. Think she had a good 2 hour or more nap.
I promise I will get pictures of the Pilgrim, and Communion on the blog. Give me another day or so. So many computers crashing lately, I need to download my pictures so I won't loose them should this one go.
Hope you all had a wonder ful week and weekend!
