Ahh, just knowing there is a long weekend ahead is wonderful :) We don't normally go away over the weekend, just stay home and hang out. And that's exactly what we did this weekend.
Saturday, the kids played with the neighbors, all day, back and forth between houses. We cleaned out the garage and ended up finding lots of stuff to stick out in the neighborhood garage sale next Saturday. Evelyn even cleaned out some things in here room to contribute. I also got my potting bench :) Had to assemble it myself (but I love to build things). Have it all set up and ready to go. Now just need to do some planting and gardening.
Sunday we had our friends the Stauss' over for a bbq. We made london broil, bbq corn on the cob, baked beans and a new pasta salad I found. The Strauss' brought a yummy apricot crisp and home made ice cream :) Yumm-O! The kids so much fun playing and Aiden even stayed over night.
Monday was a day to sleep in . I took K on a nice long run in the morning. And then for the most of the day just hung out. Nothing to do.....so nice. I chatted with the neighbors, drug out my scrap stuff to organize my pictures, went to the store..... Evy went to Dana Point to go surfing with her friend Sara. I took Greg and Aiden, and K, down into the glenn to hunt for tad poles. Didn't find many, but lots of algae, and dirty shoes. Even K got into the mud and came home caked. (She got a bath and was a little miffed with me for awhile). When Evy got back from the beach, we dashed to Tara's house so Tara, Marissa, Maria and Evy could work on their social studies project, How the Railroad was born. They have to present it to the class.
Then the big event of the weekend, The kids and I saw Shrek. Funny movie!!! We saw Jacquie and her kids there too. Did you like the movie??
Well, 7:30 now. Wonder how the Ducks are doing? Time to get ready for school tomorrow and get the kids in bed. They are tired. Only 4 more days of school left this school year. The school is shutting down early to start the summer construction.
So, hope you all had a nice Memorial Weekend. Let's not forget the real meaning of Memorial Day.... it's what keeps our wonderful Country the Land of the Free. Take a few minutes to remember all our soldiers and those who protect our Country and those who have in the past.
God Bless America!!

We LOVED the movie! Was great seeing you; wish we could have sat together. Wonder why it was playing in such a tiny theater.
Our weekend was much like yours. Thankfully once we got home, dh's fever was gone! Whew!
