We had such a great time at Disneyland on Tuesday. Met up with the rest of the girls around 8:45. Tom and Greg took off on their own. I stayed with the Troop.
Our first ride was Space Mountain. I hadn't been on there in such a long time. I loved it!!! My eyes were watering, I was screaming and having such a great time. Evy chickened out at the last minute. Next time.
We went on so many rides, had lunch in the Blue Bayou (got my favorite Monte Christo sandwich), and had a wonderful time. I went on Indiana Jones for the first time too. Got Evy and Greg to go in the Haunted House. They love the ghosts that sit in your cart with you at the end :)
We were on Thunder Mountain around 9:30, and came out of a tunnel to a sky full of spectacular fire works! It was so fun to see the fireworks while we were on a ride. And no line, so we went twice.
We left around 10 and were all beat. The girls and Greg all slept on the way home. We dropped Tara off at her house and then all crashed out for the night.
No, we didn't go on Finding Nemo. The line was just way too long. There is always the next time.
Today was hard. I slept late and it was hard to get going. But made it through the day and ready to get some sleep to start tomorrow off rested. And it's Thursday!

Off to Disneyland on Tuesday
Evelyn's Girl Scout troop is heading to Disneyland on Tuesday. :) Me, Tom and Greg are going along too. Alexis, Evelyn, Greg and I made tye dye shirts tonight for us to wear tomorrow. I'm hanging out with Evely, Alexis and Tara. The girls wanted to have matching shirts. Don't think I am bringing my camera as it is just one more thing to carry around with me. And me and 3 girls, gonna be a busy day.
I was really hoping to upload game pictures today, but woke up very very late and had a busy work day. I promise to get them posted this week. There are so many to choose from. I did send a team photo and a short write up the the Saddleback Valley News. Let's see if the boys get their picture in the paper!
Have a great week everyone.

PADRES TAKE THE PENNANT!!
Padres win!! 9-4 against the Dodgers. Oh my, What a game!! We only scored in the 1st and 2nd inning. But what a game. Greg got the game ball! Wow! I am so proud of him. He was just on fire this game. As were the rest of the team.
We had quite the crowd too. So many people there from other teams and lots of family too :) Awesome!
The boys got huge trophies at the closing ceremonies. Awesome. I think it's finally settling in that we won!!! Wow! I can't keep saying Wow!
Team party is today at 4. It's a baseball day.
Ian and Sara are her playing with the kids. Ian and Greg are playing.... you guessed it... baseball. Greg was finally able to dig out his video baseball game and hook it back up to the tv. Won't affect his swing now.
So, pix will be posted later. I took so many great pictures.
Wow!!! Way to go Padres!!

It's here, can't believe it!
Playoff game is here, well in 10 hours, so it's almost here. Can't believe it! I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. Greg got to sleep much later than I wanted him to and that he told me he would. Have to get up early and the kids have gotten used to sleeping in. Me too :)
Have to be at the field at 8 am tomorrow morning. Got my car almost loaded up to go. Got our noise makers, water bottles, all the stars on Greg's hat, balloons are ready to put in the car, made sure I have plenty of lead in the pencils, score book ready to go. Looks like all systems are a go!
Oh, need my camera too. Can't forget that!
See you tomorrow!!
GO PADRES!!!
CARTER, GAVIN, CHRISTIAN, GREG, GARRETT, JAKE, JUSTIN, IAN, JOEY, PRESTON, KYLE ~ YOU GUYS ROCK!

Playoff update
Ok, this has really turned into a baseball blog as of late. But that is our life at the moment. And it's a great thing!
Greg wanted to go the the game last night against the Cardinals and Dodgers. We got an early dinner and headed off to the ball field. When we got there the score was close. Cardinals pulled ahead and Dodgers held strong. Dodgers pulled way ahead in the 5th inning. Cardinals did a little catching up. But in the end the Dodgers beat the Cardials. Think it was 18 - 14.
Another great game!
So, 9 am Saturday is the championship game between the Padres and Dodgers. Then closing ceremonies. Oh, I'm already nervous.
Practice tonight and then early to be for all of us for a good nights sleep. Saturday is going to be a long day and full of baseball. Team party too!
Go Padres............ Whoo-hoo

Daily thought

I am thankful for the mess to clean after a party because it means I have been surrounded by friends.

Got 2 today again :) Must know something I don't. Well, guess it's time to plan another party here soon.
Wow, it's already Thursday. Quick week. Weekend is packed. I did my 3 mile run this morning too :) Feel great, but miss running with my dog. I had to sneak out so she wouldn't be giving me sad eyes at the gate. Need to get her back to the vet for another check up. We have been letting K play with her buddy Z. She needs exercise still.
Greg wants to see the Dodgers and Cardinals play tonight. Then the big game is Saturday morning.
Have a great day :)

Padres beat the Cardinals!! 13-9. Wow! Quite the game of the season! What a crowd we had too! To see some pictures now, go to http://www.themurphypage.com/ and click on Tom & Naomi. Patty posted all the pictures she took there. I'll get mine up here later.
We had quite the celebration after the game too :)
Around 9 last night, the kids and I went out front as our neighbor Babak was getting out his telescope. We saw Venus, Saturn and one of it's rings and a few of it's moons, and Jupiter with 4 of it's moons. So cool! We were also trying to find other constellations but could only clearly see the Big Dipper and part of the Little Dipper. But it was cool anyways.
Stay tuned for pictures of the game later today. I was tired last night and didn't get them down loaded. Tired this morning too. What a day it was yesterday.

Nervous
Nervous mom here today. As it gets closer and closer to game time, my stomach is flipping out. Car is packed up and ready to roll. Need to gather kids soon and get Greg dressed and snacked for the game. Make sure my pencils have lead and good erasers as I have to keep the official book today (that makes me nervous too).
Ok, don't think about it. Just go out there and have some fun and watch a good ball game!!
Thanks for all your support :)

Padres......big game tonight
Big game tonight. Yep, biggest game so far in Greg's baseball career. Padres are up against the Cardinals tonight, 5:00. I am already nervous! Don't know how Greg is doing, but he didn't really mention much. Us moms have planned for a big feast after the game :) Lot's of festivities for the boys. Win or loose. We hope this gets them fired up to get out there play their best game ever.
I ran into the Rangers coach at the hardware store this morning. He said he will be at the game. There's gonna be a record breaking crowd at the game tonight!
Dodgers beat the Angels last night. 3 teams left: Dodgers, Cardinals and Padres.
Come on out to the game tonight if you are around.
Go Padres!!

Snakes on a porch
Yep, that's right, snakes on a porch, twice. But not mine. Our neighbor Traci opens her front door yesterday afternoon to go to the grocery store. There, right by her porch are 2 snakes, black and white. She screams and goes back inside. Meanwhile snakes are starting up the step to the porch. Husband Steve, grabs a shovel and wrangles the snakes into the hedge by the driveway. Snakes are gone, Traci goes to the store, kids continue to play. And Greg heads over to play.
Traci returns from the store and kids make their way inside the house. Not much later Halli and Greg open the front door to go outside. Snake on the porch! Slam the door. Steve opens the door with the snake hanging in front of the door hissing at him. Time to take action and no details given here. But one snake is taken care of.
Note that in between events, Steve looked up the snakes on the internet and they are California King Snakes.
Tom gets home and Greg is called home for dinner. Only a few bites into dinner and Traci comes over. Snake #2 has ventured onto the porch and making an attempt to get inside the house. No details, but snake #2 is taken care of.
Now just a few days earlier, I see my other neighbor, Babak and Zuko, come running over to my house and knock on the door. I follow him outside and into the street by his house. He had seen a big snake in the street. When we got there it was gone. Probably into the drain hole in the curb. More than likely one of the 2 snakes who reappeared on Sunday.
The only snake I have seen here was a little baby King snake many years ago. It was maybe 6" long. Greg and I scooped it into a little box and after showing it to some neighbors put it over the back fence to go play with the other critters back there.
Skunk, raccoon, gopher, possums (2 inside the neighbors house), snakes............what's it going to be next??? We do have our share of lizards and frogs, but those are harmless. In my opinion.
Next time you go to take a step out your front door..........beware!! Snakes are lurking around.
