A great deal....and just wondering
Did you know that McDonald's has a special going on...........XL drink for 74 cents. Yep, it's less than the cost of a small $1 drink, and a medium and a large. Hmmmmmmmm wonder why they have this great deal going on? But no complaints here. Enough to last me the day.
Since I don't drink coffee and limit my Starbucks consumption to one a week (it's hard sometimes as I just love their Chai tea and can't wait to try a raspberry frap!) I get my caffeine fix (when I need it - like today) at the McDonald's drive through.
So rush right over to your nearest McDonald's and be sure to ask for the XL drink!
Cheers!!

Little League Day at Angel Stadium
Sunday was Little League Day at Angel Staduim. The teams get to walk along the warning track before the game. This is the 3rd year we have gone with Greg's team. We really don't watch much of the game but always have a good time.

Carter's parents brought the motor home for a before game tail gate party. They boys played catch while the parents chatted and had munchies and margaritas.
Then it was a dash to get in line to get onto the field and for the parents to find a spot to get a good picture of the boys on the track.

It was a hot day, so of course we had ice cream and fruit cups. Also enjoyed our nachos and hot dogs :)
Go Guerrero!!
After the game the kids rode in the motor home back to Carters and the kids swam and we bbq'd. Was a long day but tons of fun :)

About Life
Daily thoughts have been so-so the last few days. But, here is a good email I got this morning from my cousins. Enjoy and have a terrific Tuesday :)
On the first day, God created the dog and said: "Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years." The dog said: "That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?" So God agreed.
On the second day, God created the monkey and said: "Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span." The monkey said: "Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the dog did?" And God agreed.
On the third day, God created the cow and said: "You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family For this, I will give you a life span of sixty Years." The cow said: "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?" And God agreed again.
On the fourth day, God created man and said: "Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years." But man said: "Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?"
"Okay," said God, "You asked for it." So that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.
Life has now been explained to you

Egg mystery solved
Ok, all day long I have been wondering how long that nasty egg has really been in our garage. It was larger than a regular chicken egg and the shell broke in two, it didn't shatter like a normal egg does when it is dropped on the kitchen floor. The shell was much thicker.
Most evenings the kids are playing out front and us adults gather for a chat. So Julia and Babak ask if Greg liked the egg they found and gave to Tom on Sunday to show to Greg. Egg? Oh, the smelly thing that broke in the garage. So, I explained the story to them and that Tom never said a thing about the egg. They found it on a walk in the glenn on Sunday and thought Greg would like to see it. And were wondering what was inside the egg. Must have fallen from a nest. I explained the curdling green icky stinky stuff inside. No baby bird in there. And what kind of bird? Maybe a turkey vulture like the ones that lurk around behind the house. Who knows.
But now I know how the egg got in the garage and when. I asked Tom about the egg and he said he stuck it on the shelf, near the chalk, and forgot about it.
You sure don't want to lift the lid on our trash can. P-U, major stinkage!! I had Greg do a sniff test and we both bolted to the house.
Maybe I will make some scrambled eggs for breakfast in the morning. The kids need a good hearty breakfast before heading off to volleyball camp!!

Last one in is a Rotten Egg!!
How many times in your life have you said that saying! Can't even begin to count.
But, have you ever smelled a rotten egg? Have you? If not, come on over and hang out in my garage. It stinks like a rotten egg!!! Why???
Well, this morning I am about to leave to take the kids to volleyball camp at the lake. Greg comes in from the garage and tells me he dropped an egg in the garage. Why do you have an egg? I thought it was chalk and I dropped it on accident. It really smells and looks gross, it's green and it's a big egg.
Ok, then the smell made its way inside. Oh, gagging smell. It looked so gross too. I covered it with an old towel and tried to scoop it up, holding my breath and trying not to gag.
When I got back home from the lake and opened the garage, oh the smell! I finished scooping up the egg and put it in the trash with the towel (glad trash day is tomorrow), hosed out the garage and left the door open to air it out.
Makes me gag just thinking about it.
My guess is that the egg has been in the chalk basket since Easter. Why is it there? Not quite sure. We did have some egg shaped chalk. But why was it not discovered earlier? Anyone's guess. But not a fun thing to have to clean up. No way!

Baseball ~ last one for the year

It's always sad to say good bye to the wonderful people we meet during baseball season. I know we will see so many of them at different places throughout the year. And we will see most of them again in February. It's such a busy time of the year, but so much fun too. And what a great year this sure was.
The boys played so hard, never got down on themselves or each other, had positive coaches and positive parents and improved 200% throughout the season. That's what makes a Championship team. I am so proud of Greg and all the boys on his team.
Greg has decided he wants to re-do his room, again. So on Sunday, we did some shopping. Now just to finish things up and paint. (ugh.....didn't think I would have to do that for a few more years). What Greg has in mind is basically a sports shrine, His Shrine. Well, he deserves it. He earned it, so why not.
But until then, I am finally posting pix from the Championship game, Closing Ceremonies and the team party.
Saturday is Carter's birthday party, but I'm not taking pictures there. Evy and I will spend some time together as it has been all about Greg for the last several weeks. She has been so good about it and not complaining. Did I hear the word Mall?? Yes, E, we will go the mall.
Now, picture time. Sit back and enjoy! And thanks for all your support this year. I know it means so much to Greg.

Daily thought
A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken.
— James Dent
Perfect for the first day of summer. All of the above here! A nice quiet day.
Evelyn's friend left just a few minutes ago. Greg should be home soon. Then when Janet gets home, it's off to the lake for an evening of kayaking. Oh, it's been over a year since I have gone kayaking. Took lessons last year then hurt my neck and that was it for me for the rest of the summer. Can't wait to get out there on the lake again and paddle away.
Happy first day of summer everyone. And again, Happy Birthday Dad!!

Happy Birthday Dad!
June 21. The first day of Summer and the Summer Solstice, longest day of the year. And today is my dad's birthday. What a great day to have a birthday. You get an extra long day to celebrate. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the best dad there ever will be.
Thank you for always being there for me, for taking us places, doing things for us and most of all, always being there for me. You have given me so much support all my life and I can never begin to thank you enough for that.
Hope that you have a wonderful day and know that we are all thinking of you, miss you and love you very much :)
